 Fun Country
 Light Truck / SUV Tires

The Fun Country is Dick Cepek's On-/Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire developed for enthusiastic pickup truck and sport utility vehicle drivers looking for tough radials prepared for on- and off-road adventure! Targeted to fit between traditional all-terrain and mud-terrain tire designs, the Fun Country offers a wide selection of traditional and specialty light truck sizes designed to deliver any-terrain traction, even in snow.

Fun Country radials feature an 18.5/32"-deep symmetric tread design that has large surface area tread elements to provide positive grip and even wear for on- and off-road performance. Offset circumferential and wide lateral grooves promote off-road traction while Stone Kickers in the base of the outboard lateral grooves resist stone drilling. Notched shoulder lugs combined with an enhanced buttress design and Dick Cepek's trademark "DC" Sidebiters in the upper sidewall provide a rugged appearance, added protection and more traction in loose surfaces. Ultra thin full treadlife sipes with rounded corners reduce stress concentrations for resistance to cracking and promote all-season traction for the life of the tread.

The internal structure of Fun Country radials features a heavy-duty casing that layers twin steel belts on top of polyester body plies.

 Trail Country
 Passenger Tires

The Trail Country is Dick Cepek's On-/Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire for pickup, SUV and jeep drivers looking to combine off-road capabilities with on-road control. Designed to tackle tough terrain, the Trail Country also provides year-round versatility, including traction in snow.

Trail Country tires feature a silica-enhanced compound molded into a 5-rib symmetric tread design. Buttressed shoulders provide an aggressive look and increase off-road traction. Dick Cepek's ramp-lock design ties intermediate tread elements together in pairs to help reduce stone retention by pushing gravel towards the circumferential grooves for release. Multi-faceted tread blocks, wide circumferential grooves and zigzag sipes promote a soft surface and snow traction.

The internal structure of Trail Country tires feature twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon on top of a two-ply polyester casing to combine strength, durability and ride comfort.

 Trail Country EXP
 Passenger Tires

The Trail Country EXP is Dick Cepek's On-/Off- Road All-Terrain tire developed for the drivers of pickup trucks, SUVs and Jeeps who want to explore the road to adventure and need a tire with the off-road capability and durability to make their way back. Designed as a hybrid between an all-terrain tire and a mud-terrain tire, the Trail Country EXP is engineered for confident traction in a variety of off-road situations in addition to sure-footed performance in dry, wet and wintry conditions, including light snow.

A cut- and chip-resistant, silica-reinforced compound is molded into the Trail Country EXP's aggressive, symmetric pattern. Broad tread elements provide rubber-to-road contact for stable handling and confident grip. The high-silica tread compound enhances wet traction, and the wide grooves and lateral notches help evacuate water from the footprint to resist hydroplaning. Ultra-thin, interlocking sipes create biting edges to enhance traction in snow and on ice, in addition to allowing the tread lugs to conform to irregular surfaces. Stone ejector ribs in the grooves reduce stone retention and help resist drilling, while the notched and stepped outboard shoulder lugs provide side bite in deep, loose terrain.

The two-ply casing uses high-tensile body cord to enhance sidewall strength while improving ride quality, and two high-strength, steel belts support the tread area and aid durability through puncture resistance.

 Extreme Country
 Passenger Tires

The Extreme Country is an Off-Road Maximum Traction light truck tire developed for pickup truck and sport utility vehicle enthusiasts looking for the best mud tire from Dick Cepek yet. Designed to offer versatile performance, Extreme Country tires combine on- and off-road traction, treadlife and handling.

Featuring a tread compound that offers improved cut and chip protection, Extreme Country tires begin with 18/32" to 21/32"-deep symmetric designs (depending on tire size) that combine wide outer voids and angled shoulder scallops for off-road traction while specially-designed ejector tread grooves resist stone retention. Large surface area central tread elements are tightly packed to provide greater contact area for better handling and to promote a quieter on-road ride. Dick Cepek’?s trademark "DC" Sidebiters are molded onto the upper sidewalls to provide added protection and more traction on loose surfaces.

The tire?’s internal structure features twin steel belts on top of two-ply next-generation High Tensile (HT) Body Ply Cord that enhances sidewall strength without adding weight, rolling resistance, heat buildup or ride harshnesss.

While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires, which are often called mud tires, are branded with the M+S symbol and are able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and limited use of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.

History:  History of Dick Cepek

When you hear the name Dick Cepek, you immediately think of off-road adventure. Dick Cepek was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and all types of outdoor activities. Once he moved out West, exploring the Southwestern desert regions through off-roading was his passion. His passion soon grew into a business, and eventually became a popular aftermarket off-road accessory company. At the time, Dick Cepek products included tires, lights, and suspension products as well has his trademark “Baja Proven” camping supplies many types of vehicles including ATVs.

 The Baja Proven Product Line

In 1963 Dick Cepek and his family set out with the Washburn family for the ultimate off-road tire test – to drive the length of the Baja peninsula totaling 1000 miles. Dick was so impressed with the tires that he coined the phrase “Baja Proven” – considering this run to be the ultimate tire test.

Dick went back to the peninsula in 1966 with his friend Ed Pearlman to tackle the trail once again. This was the year of the first official Baja 1000, and Dick and Ed proudly finished in second place.

Not long after. Dick opened the doors to his first off-road retail shop in 1967. He sold a wide variety of off-road tires and wheels, and offered every off-road accessory he could find. From jacks that would work in soft sand and desert survival books, to tents, auxiliary lights and other accessories required for successful trip through the desert.

 Becoming an International Brand

After four years, Dick Cepek, Inc. became an international retailer selling products to South Africa, New Zealand, Italy and the Middle East. Two years later he started a wholesale division to distribute products to other international retailers – a huge and immediate success.

Shortly after launching the wholesale division, he opened the doors to the second retail location in El Cajon, Calif. The rest, as they say, is history. He opened multiple stores in the Southwest region of the U.S. and in 1988 opened a retail store in Japan.

 Product Innovations

Dick Cepek continued to develop his own branded tires with the emphasis on performance and quality. He was an innovator. His first branded tire was the Gumbo Mudder. He also developed an aramid wrapped tire design in the early 1980’s called the Dick Cepek Radial X-C – developed for increased sidewall protection. He also led the industry in the development of auxiliary off-road lighting including spot and fog lights.
